Director's Welcome

Exploring the Depth of Wisdom,
Answering the Questions of Our Time

“Through fundamental reflection on the human being and the world, the Institute of Chung-Ang Philosophical Studies seeks to see into the essence of the complex problems we face today.”

Welcome to the Institute of Chung-Ang Philosophical Studies at Chung-Ang University.

Since its founding in 1998, the Institute has carried forward the traditions of Eastern and Western philosophy, analyzing the issues of contemporary society through a philosophical lens, and providing a forum for scholarly exchange. Philosophy is not merely knowledge confined to the ivory tower; it is the foundation of practical wisdom through which we understand the world we live in and design a better future.

In an age of rapidly changing civilization, where human alienation and the confusion of values are accelerating, the role of philosophical inquiry is more important than ever. Through international conferences, the regular publication of the journal Philosophy Inquiry, and public humanities lectures, our Institute accumulates rigorous research and shares its findings with society.

The Institute will continue its serious scholarly inquiry at the intersection of tradition and modernity, theory and practice. We invite your continued interest and participation. Thank you.
